Management Team



Dr. F.- Hans Grandin has been CEO of HUESKER Synthetic GmbH and the HUESKER Group since 01 November 2012, and became shareholder in July 2015. Keeping the balance between today's economic success and securing HUESKER's future by investing into innovations and new business areas is one of the key challenges of his role. After positions in Development, Product Management, Sales and Marketing - including in Brazil and the USA - he contributes 19 years of experience as Managing Director in the area of technically sophisticated premium products. As Chairman of the Managing Board, Grandin focuses on the sustainable development of the HUESKER-Group in a rapidly changing world.



Sven Schröer started his HUESKER career in Gescher in 2002 and moved to the USA in 2014 to take over as Managing Director for North America. Since 11 June 2019 the trained civil engineer has been back in Germany. As Managing Director, he is responsible for the HUESKER Group's worldwide sales and application technology activities in the Geosynthetics sector.



Juliane Brüning started at HUESKER on 01 April 1995 and has been responsible for Human Resources since October 2009. From 1995 to 2009, she worked in various areas of finance and accounting, and was deputy head of this department for many years. With her team, she sees herself as a service provider for HUESKER employees and provides advice on all HR issues. When recruiting personnel, she attaches particular importance to ensuring that the new employees fit well into the company, not only professionally but also culturally. Since 2014, Juliane Brüning has also been a member of our 3-member Compliance Committee, which monitors and controls compliance with all legal requirements and internal company guidelines.



Sascha Torsten Mayer started at HUESKER on September 1st,2020 as CFO. In this function, he is responsible for the areas of finance and controlling, IT and master data management, purchasing and legal. Mayer is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of relevant professional experience in international groups and medium-sized companies as CFO, CIO, CHRO, head of controlling and finance as well as legal. On top of mastering all classic financial instruments for a value-add corporate performance management, Mayer and his team of experienced specialists and managers see themselves as business partners of all areas. The optimization and digitization of relevant decision-making processes as well as effective risk management are equally important objectives.



As Technical Manager Heinz-Georg Richels is responsible for the production sites at HUESKER. He can now draw on over 30 years' experience in the manufacturing of sophisticated technical textiles. With his highly qualified team of experts, Heinz-Georg Richels meets the individual requirements of customers on a daily basis and – in line with the company´s values - puts them into practice with imagination and excellence.



After studying civil engineering at the RWTH Aachen University, Oliver Detert joined HUESKER on 12 October 2005 as a civil engineer in the engineering department. In 2010, he became deputy head of the engineering department and has been the responsible head of the engineering department since 2014. From 2009 to 2016, he was an external doctoral student at the Ruhr University Bochum where he obtained his doctorate in the Department of Geotechnical Engineering and Soil Mechanics. Together with his team, Dr. Detert advises and supports our customers in the successful implementation of their projects from the first sketch to the completed construction and beyond if required.



Sandra Korf joined HUESKER on 1 December 2000 and has been responsible for improving the working environment and processes since September 2013. Together with the employees, she uncovers waste and optimises business processes. Her most important tool is the PDCA cycle. In her role, she benefits from her academic training and the experience she has gained in various functions within the company. Since June 2019, she has been head of process management, uniting improvement and quality management and ensuring that both areas work hand in hand.



Christof Schleusener joined HUESKER on 01 September 2019 as Innovation Manager and is responsible for the further development of the extensive product portfolio. He studied plastics processing and industrial economics and looks back on 26 years of valuable experience in project management, development and sales in the international automotive industry. In collaboration with the other HUESKER departments, he ensures the targeted development and series launch of new, market-driven products and systems.



Jörg Eßling has been responsible for the two business divisions Industry & Agriculture at HUESKER since 01 January 2009. In this function he and his team place particular emphasis on development and marketing of diverse innovative system solutions for use in agriculture and industry. Jörg Eßling has been with the company since 1992 and has also completed a master's degree in business administration.



Christian Kortboyer has been working for HUESKER for over 30 years. After holding various positions in the German market, he has been responsible for sales of Geosynthetics in the D/A/CH region since 01 July 2010. He has always attached great importance to the perception of HUESKER as a full-range supplier in all areas of application in the construction industry, in particular earthworks and foundation engineering, landfill construction, road construction and hydraulic engineering. It is important to Christian Kortboyer, that the customer and his requirements are at the centre of his daily work to find market-driven and economical solutions.



As head of the sales team, Stephan Westhus has been responsible for technical sales of HUESKER products in Europe, Africa and the Middle East since 01 July 2018. In addition to over 15 years of experience in the sale of Geosynthetics, the graduate civil engineer has access to an extensive international network of area managers and local partners with whom he provides advice to all parties involved in the project. The implementation of the company’s global growth strategy through the resource-saving and climate-friendly use of Geosynthetics as a cost-efficient alternative to conventional construction methods is his main focus.



Andreas Elsing joined the company in 1994 as a graduate civil engineer. He has over 25 years of experience in developing technical solutions with Geosynthetics worldwide. Andreas Elsing has a special relationship to asphalt as a building material and its rehabilitation possibilities. Since 2005, he is head of the product management at HUESKER and since 2018, he is additionally head of the business unit asphalt reinforcement international.



Christian Roleff has been responsible for marketing at HUESKER since 01 April 2014. In this role, he and his team place particular emphasis on the HUESKER brand and the positive perception of the company worldwide. He contributes over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing, which he previously gained in three international companies. Since 2018, Christian Roleff has also been head of the business development department and, together with the business development managers, has been responsible for ensuring the future growth of the company in the Geosynthetic business.
