Investments set to expand business potential and strengthen labour market
HUESKER Russia officially inaugurated its first production site on 29 March in the Russian town of Klin, some 80 km north-west of Moscow.
Having established the Russian subsidiary in 2013, the HUESKER Group, one of the world's leading geosynthetics manufacturers, had already underlined its commitment to stepping up business activities in Eastern Europe. "We believe there is even greater potential for our products and system solutions in the Russian market," explains HUESKER Group Managing Director Dr. F.- Hans Grandin. "Particularly in the roads and pavements segment, but also in the field of earthworks and foundations as well as hydraulic and environmental engineering, we have completed a number of very successful projects in the last few years. The ability to manufacture many of our products locally will now enable us to respond even more quickly and flexibly to individual, project-specific requirements."
The products now manufactured at the new, approx. 5,000 m² factory include tried-and tested geotextiles such as HaTelit, Basetrac and Stabilenka. Accompanied by Stanislav Khmelnitskiy, Managing Director of HUESKER Russia, and Alyona Sokolskaya, Mayoress of the town of Klin, Grandin formally kicked off the inauguration festivities with the symbolic tape-cutting ceremony.
As Sokolskaya sees it, the new plant will provide a welcome boost for her town. "We are glad that foreign investment is continuing to flow into the economy of the surrounding area. What's more, this is a unique chance for the whole region to raise the standard of its roadbuilding."
"We look forward to exploiting our know-how, amassed over a period of 155 years, in tackling many more intriguing projects," adds Grandin. "We are confident of being able to overcome the various challenges that we are certain to face along the way."
